There appears to be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel for the house sellers at last. With the announcement of the extension of the higher entry level of stamp duty remaining at 175000, and an increase in mortgages secured in the first quarter of 2009, there has been a small, but steady increase in sales enquiries. People are still looking for bargains (so no immediate jumps back up to the prices we saw mid 2007) but it does mean that we will be looking to restart the residential property sales again from early 2010. We'll let you know more closer to the time.
